In the past month, this is what I have done:

-Gone to the beach (Cahuita and Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean Coast)

-Went to two wildlife centers: Kekoldi Iguana Center where they breed iguanas and the Jaguar Rescue Center where they rescue injured wild animals.

-Went to a Chocolate House where they make real pure chocolate.

-Swam in another waterfall.

-Spent time on several beaches.

-Ate calamari (squid) and octopus!

-Took 2 weeks of intensive Spanish lessons with a teacher named Oscar.

-Went to the Turrialba "Farmer's Market".

-Fed the animals at the neighbor's house.

-Hiked in the woods.

-Got stuff for school.

AT CAHUITA AND PUERTO VIEJO ON THE CARIBBEAN COAST

We went to the Jaguar Rescue Center near Cahuita and it was the only rescue center I have been to that attempts to let the animals back into the wild.

Really, you don't want to get bit by the vipers!

This iguana is on  the ground because it was in a fight with another male for a female. This one lost so it fell.

Rare to find a male of this species

Costa Rican Owl. They have to teach him how to hunt.

Living viper, luckily behind glass (but we did see two in the wild!)

This squirrel steals your bananas, plus its a thief. We have squirrels like this at home.

This toucan hopped around us, and I was scared it would bite my face off.

The sloth: slow but fierce.

The white-tailed deer is Costa Rica's national animal.

We had so many bananas that we had to give many away to many animals.

Our favorite restaurant so far.

My favorite "burger"... the Super Mata made with local cheese, a slice of marinated beef, lettuce and some sort of sauce.

Though scary-looking, we think this is harmless banana spider.

The hot dogs have to be peeled before you can eat them.
